The Brook donates $39K to Working Dog Foundation

VIA SEACOASTONLINE The Brook casino in Seabrook has donated $39,690 to the Working Dog Foundation as charitable proceeds raised during a week in August. Jenn Schaaff, executive director for the Working Dog Foundation, said the group participated in The Brook’s charity gaming events, which raise funds for nonprofit organizations by donating a percentage of the entire house to the nonprofit.

VIA NBCBOSTON The first sports betting retail location is opening in New Hampshire, a little over a year after Gov. Chris Sununu signed a bill legalizing betting on professional and college sports in the state.

DraftKings Sportsbook at The Brook opened Wednesday in Seabrook, just over the Massachusetts state border. Sports fans will now be able to place legal bets on all major professional and collegiate U.S. sports at the location. Seabrook was one of a number of towns where residents voted to allow the operation of sports betting retail locations.

DraftKings Opens First New Hampshire Retail Sportsbook

VIA GAMBLING DraftKings opened its first retail sportsbook in New Hampshire at The Brook casino in Seabrook on Tuesday.

Enhanced safety and sanitization protocols were in place for the opening of the new sportsbook at The Brook, according to a news release. DraftKings, The Brook and the New Hampshire Lottery made the sportsbook announcement Tuesday, calling it the “first of its kind for the state.”

The Brook in Seabrook opened Wednesday at the site of what used to be a greyhound track.

“Certainly, with the NBA coming back on, Major League Baseball, you’ve now got three of the four major big sports for the U.S. up and running, so now it’s time to open the physical sportsbooks,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery.
